Intravenous Administration of Chelation TherapyJulian
Whitaker MD "How does it work? EDTA is a synthtic protein that is drawn to metal ions such as copper, iron, mercury, and lead. The EDTA is administered via intravenous infusion, and, once in the bloodstream, its molecules attach to metal ions, drawing them out of the tissues in the boday. The EDTA molecule is then, very simply, excreted along with the heavy metal. These toxic heavy metal ions play an extremely active role in the process of free-radical pathology. They act as potent catalysts in lipid oxidation, which we are now discovering is the culprit in not only cardiovascular disease but many degenerative disorders.Removing the metal ions interrupts the process of free-radical damage and fosters normal healing. By eliminating the root cause of arterial damage, EDTA chelation therapy serves as the basis for the ensuing natural healing. In reducing free-radical activity, EDTA restores prostaglandin hormone balance, which is responsible for preventingarterial spasms, blood clotting, plaque formation, and inflammation." "EDTA, Safe and Effective... Over the past 30 years, approximately 600,000 patients have had about 12 million EDTA infusions in this country, and the FDA could find no evidence of any significant toxicity. In fact, no fatalities have occurred when the treatment was properly administered and supervised."
