Foods for Life Essential Guidebook

Eat Lower on the Food Chain

Think Higher

  • Consider the quality of your thoughts and the visual impressions around you. They feed you in powerful and subtle ways; either to promote balance and health or to contribute to imbalance and disease.

  • Remember to respect the symptoms of your body as a form of communication. Your work is to understand what they mean, not to be fearful of them, suppress them, or deny them.

  • Expect improvement! The body's innate wisdom and vitality, created by God, is capable of extra-ordinary things. When you desire and intend and work at improving your health, your body will be an eager and generous partner.

  • Make small changes. Consider what you are willing to commit to and strive towards achieving small things, which add up to larger, positive lifestyle changes.

  • Be patient and kind to yourself. Visualize realistic goals and put them on paper, sign and date them so you can reflect back on your journey toward increasing wellness.

  • Plan ahead. Since you are making changes in the way you think about your food choices, it helps to not get overly hungry so that eating anything will do. This can be especially true for people with either low or high blood sugar conditions.

  • Enjoy cooking and meal times.

  • Eat simply, give thanks for all you have, share with others, spread love.
