Annika Hayes, HealthyTravel.net

Annika Hayes has been active in the travel industry since 1971. The travel bug bit her when she was a Swedish College student hitchhiking all over Europe to pursue her interests in languages and different cultures. Upon college graduation, Annika moved to Paris, France to improve her knowledge of the language. She started working in the travel industry in Frankfurt, Germany as an Assistant Operations Manager in a major wholesale tour company in 1972. In this position she gained an even greater familiarity with the geography of Europe, its hotels and its attractions.

During the next 6 years Annika held various positions ranging from supervising operations for a major international charter company, to the sales/marketing manager for a foreign based national tourist office.

She moved to the United States in 1977 and worked as a manager of a retail/wholesale travel agency in the Pacific Northwest. Annika moved to the Southern California area in 1979 where she was first exposed to spiritually oriented travel groups.

In the mid 80's, Annika went through major physical challenges and found that a change in lifestyle was necessary. A way of life that focused on a "healthier" approach for body, mind and soul was needed. Annika started at this time to promote travel programs that had a healthier theme to them.

When Annika in 1997 teamed up with the founders of HealthWorld Online to develop the HealthyTravel part of their web sites www.healthy.net and www.NPICenter.com - it was a natural match. HealthyTravel represents the blending of mission with bringing people together around worthwhile causes, either personal enrichment through body, mind and soul and the mission of working towards world wide understanding, acceptance and peace through travel.
