Wendy Rae Zaritsky, HEALL's Founder

During 1980 I became acutely ill after the birth of my second child, Hope Rachael. This was a very humbling experience since I thought I was well informed, healthy and invulnerable. At that time I certainly suffered from the "Wonder Woman Syndrome," where I felt I could violate every holistic health principle that I now know to be so important. Doctors labeled me with having Lupus, Epstein Barr Virus or CFS and a whooping case of Candida Albicans.

Several years later, my symptoms changed and worsened. I decided not to accept the doctors' diagnosis and instead to work on taking responsibility for my health and for my recovery. Recovery was a long process as I rebuilt my immune system and uncovered the emotional components contributing to my illness. This gave me the opportunity to make use of all that I had learned over the years. With the help of the many holistic practitioners with whom I chose to partner during my recovery, and with God's Grace in accessing the Internal Healer, I have come a long way.

This experience brought home to me that healing occurs inside of us all and is not solely caused by external actions or events.

Although working with nutritional supplementation, homeopathic remedies, breathwork, rebirthing, massage therapy, chiropractic, herbal formulas and psycho-spiritual therapy assisted in my healing, I could see that I was the one making the decision to allow these external agents to be forces for healing in my life.

From these experiences I felt a "quickening" to go out and share what I learned with others. In 1987 I founded The Health Education Alliance for Life (H.E.A.L.) as an educational organization committed to prevention and wellness of the whole person - body, mind and spirit. HEAL became the Health Education Alliance for Life and Longevity (H.E.A.L.L.) in 1996.

It is my fervent desire and vision to see the world and its human family transformed and healed. I hope this website will contribute to that vision as it becomes reality.
