Trifolium Compound of Hoxsey-like Elixir
Dr. Naiman's version of the traditional red clover combination tonic used in conjunction with escharotic cancer treatments. Historically, most people who treated tumors through applications of external herbal products, whether poultices, pastes, or salves, also used internal tonics or elixirs that supported detoxification and tonification.
Detoxifying herbs clean the blood and support efficient elimination of toxins and metabolic residuals. Tonifying herbs support immunity and oxygen transport by the red blood cells. They also help regenerate weakened systems of the body. These types of products can be used in conjunction with traditional or modern treatments since they support the patient somewhat more that they address the disease -- though this said, many of the herbs do have some proven anticancer effects.
The main ingredient in these traditional preparations was often red clover blossoms. This tonic has red clover, Oregon grape root, poke root, sarsaparilla, stillingia, buckthorn, burdock, cascara sagrada, prickly ash berry, licorice, and Irish moss. It is prepared with distilled spring water using a steam displacement process. It is in a honey base, contains about 24% alcohol, and is available in amber bottles. In Hoxsey's day, patients paid a one-time fee for a lifetime supply of the tonic. Today, many patients are given the tonic for half a year before any use of the external products. They continue on the tonic, at lesser dosages for at least five years. Many take the tonic throughout their entire lives
