Good Earth Organic Farm produces pastured broilers and lamb, eggs from pastured hens, and organically grown vegetables. The products are available at the farm store from May to October. The Magedson's are members of their local Community Supported Agriculture. You sign up at the beginning of the season and pick up fresh vegetables every week. Being locally saves transportation costs and allows the growers to pick varieties for their flavor and food value, not their ability to withstand long periods of shipping and days in the display case.

Homestead Healthy Foods has a number of products available, including pastured beef and chicken, smoked beef, and summer sausage. Beef is available in individual cuts. The chickens are fed a supplemental feed ration that contains organic flax oil, a source of omega-3 fatty acids. They also forage on grass. Meat is delivered to Austin, Texas, once a week, and shipping to other locations is also available. Call for details. The Texas Bison Company is headquartered at the Moseley Ranch in the Blackland prairie of northeast Texas. The Moseleys specialize in grass-finished bison raised on native prairie grasses. The animals are not treated with hormones or antibiotics and are harvested at a young age. "We pride ourselves on the quality of our bison meat while using low input sustainable farming methods and intensive grass management. No pesticides or herbicides are used! Instead, we rely on haying, grazing, and burning to maintain our plant communities." The meat is sold by individual cut, subject to availability.
