The problem with most progesterone crèmes

The primary problem with most progesterone crèmes is not dosage, but metabolic clearance. If, due to uncontrolled dosage or imperfect formulation, the progesterone is not properly absorbed and fully utilized, the results can be devastating to the body.

This means that it is important to give the correct dosage, at the right times. In order for the progesterone to be effective it must be given in a manner that mimics the body's own delivery. This is called a pulsatile delivery, which is the frequent delivery of very small amounts over a 24 hour period.

This is accomplished in BioFemme™ using what's known as a Trans Pulse delivery system (TPD). TDP uses Liposomes which are microscopic lipid globules that are made of a natural material similar to that of the cell membrane. This allows them to easily pass into the cell and deposit their payload.

When applied to the skin, they penetrate quickly through the cells, are picked up by the blood capillaries, and transported by red blood cells to where they are needed. The advantage to this form of delivery is that it's predictable, reliable, and it illiminates the side effects associated with progesterone dominance. Most of the progesterone crèmes available today use an inexpensive oil (fat-soluble) rather than the more expensive liposomal compound. This can be a problem; the oil-based compounds have a tendency to stay in the skin for a long time, releasing their payload for an extended and unpredictable period of time.

BioFemme™ is the first progesterone crème to address this issue by employing a proprietary delivery system that prevents build up in the skin and allows for predictable delivery throughout the menstrual cycle. (During the first six days of the menstrual cycle), progesterone should be discontinued because it can interfere with the normal shift from progesterone to estrogen dominance.
